This is to create a collaborative environment where both Mentor and Student can work together.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The compass activity will also send notifications to mentors, when one of their allocated students has completed their next phase submission.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d89248e elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d89248e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Mentoring students with the compass activity<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a1b9175 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a1b9175\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>When using Compass to mentor students\u2019 self-assessment, please note the following:<\/p><ul><li>You will only view students with whom you are pre-grouped.<\/li><li>Each phase will be enabled only during the exact timing allocated.<\/li><li>Each phase will be available first to students to submit, then once they have completed, then the mentor submission form will be available.<ul><li>If the phase is for mentors only, this will not apply of course!<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>The feedback chat section becomes available once a student has submitted their first phase submission.<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>To mentor students with the compass activity:<\/p><ol><li>Ensure you are in a group with the students.<ol><li>You will receive a notification whenever a student submits a competency phase.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Go to a <i>course.<\/i><\/li><li>Go to a <strong>Compass<\/strong> activity.<\/li><li>Ensure that the phase you are concerned about is currently active for submissions.<\/li><li>Click the <strong>Show competencies<\/strong> link.<\/li><li>Select the relevant values for each competency and click on <strong>Submit<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Provide feedback to the student, if needed, in the text area.<\/li><li>Click the <strong>Send <\/strong>button.<\/li><\/ol><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Please note this is repeated for each phase and the student can also provide feedback to their mentor, as soon as the feedback has been initiated by the mentor.
