Competency Awarder: Site administrator
Introduction
The Competency Awarder report plugin allows teachers and managers to award course competencies to their course students, see which course competencies they may have already been awarded and, in which case, what grade was given.
Additionally, managers and teachers can award course competencies to users either individually or in bulk from this report.
This is a course report which fits into the navigation to standard Moodle course reports.
Administration
This section is for the administration of the Competency Awarder plugin.
Version Support
This plugin has been developed to work on Moodle releases 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3.
Deployment
To install the Competency Awarder report (report_bfcompetencyawarder):
- Unzip and copy the bfcompetencyawarder folder into Moodle’s report/ folder.
- Go to Site administration > Notifications to install the report.

Configurations
- Date issued format – How to display the format of the date issued value.
- Default report start date – Default number of days to use for report start date.
- Enable Competency Awarding – Enable competency awarding link in report.
- Competency ID ordering – Comma separated string of competency IDs, for ordering the display of these competencies
- Excluded Competency IDs – Comma separated string of excluded competency IDs, to hide these competencies.
- Show all competencies for Admins – Enable or disable if admins can view all competencies, including excluded competency ID’s.

View capability
The capability “report/bfcompetencyawarder:view” allows users with the relevant permissions for that context to view the Competency Awarder report.
This capability is granted by default to these following archetype roles, using course context:
- Manager
- Teacher
Viewhidden capability
The capability “report/bfcompetencyawarder:viewhidden” allows users with the relevant permissions for that context to view hidden competencies, deemed as excluded by the relevant global setting, in the Competency Awarder report.
This capability is granted by default to no archetype roles.
